The Secret in Think and Grow Rich

The Napoleon Hill classic, Think and Grow Rich, has continued to pose a challenge for readers ever since its publication in 1937. Hill claims to have implanted his secret to gaining wealth within the pages of the book in such a was that is is ‘hidden’ whilst it also remains in plain view. Actually, the secret is in two separate parts. The first part, he talks about openly, however, the second part is not at all so obvious.

I originally read the book over twenty years ago and I just did not get the secret. Hill explains that the reader can only receive it when he/she is ready, so I guess I was simply not ready at that time. Even many years later, when I read the book again, I had much the same experience: the secret continued to remain a mystery - at least to me.

I figured that other people must have solved the problem, so I began to search the internet to see what other people had written about it. The result was that I found quite a lot of articles written on the subject, but no two seemed to ever agree on what the secret was. It really made me wonder if there was any such secret at all.

But then, a thought struck me. Hill says in the book that people like Henry Ford, Alexander Graham Bell and John D Rockerfeller had all used the secret to acquire their wealth, so I figured that I might be able to get some insight into the secret by studying how these people had become wealthy. But alas, I was not able to find a common theme that might suggest they were all applying the same principle.

Speaking with a friend about the whole subject of the secret and how it was supposedly hidden in the pages of the book, I asked him what he thought it was. He replied that his opinion was that the secret was the individual reader’s interpretation. Everyone, he said, would have their own ‘aha’ moment. That, he said, was the secret.

One day, however, it just came to me almost completely out-of-the-blue. Just as Hill had said, it leaped off-the-page, metaphorically, and stood before me. I knew, intuitively, that I was right as soon as the secret struck me; and I also knew at last why Hill had not just openly revealed it in the first place. So, will the secret make me rich?

Well, I began using the secret immediately; and I plan to use it in a more direct way in a project I have coming up in the near future. However, I can report that the use of the secret is indeed having a positive effect on the results I am getting right now, so I am convinced that I finally do have the real secret.
